It was in 2024 that I had the chance to do my first tour with Zanmari Baré. The aim of this cross-disciplinary project, Lantouraz, was to revisit his repertoire with new harmonic and melodic colors. I found myself playing the roulèr and sati combo to accompany these songs that I first listened to when I started playing maloya ten years ago.
At the end of the second tour, joined by Mary Baré and Sami Pageaux (whom I initially replaced), we went into the studio and, for the first time on video, performed this magnificent composition from his latest album — a vibrant tribute to his partner, Da.
